TURKEY
Whether it's Thanksgiving, or not, these wines are highly-recommended to pair with your feast!
Lageder Chardonnay $16.99
The Lageder family has been making wines in the heart of the Italian Alps for over 150 years. Over this time, Alois Lageder has been instilled the philosophy of giving back to the land. Everything he does is with the health of his land in mind. The chardonnay is a very pure expression of the land. Crisp, full bodied notes of apple, peaches and and a touch of cream, with enough body and complexity to satisfy the hedonists in the crowd. This would pair beautifully with turkey and gravy or also a glazed ham.
Noble House Riesling $13.99
Always one of the best Riesling values on the market. This wine is made by the legendary Dr. Pauly Bergweiler, one of the most esteemed producers in the Mosel Valley. This has a deft combination of sweet delicious fruit and crisp mineral finish that makes it a beautiful and versatile food wine. Notes of ripe peach and apricot aroma with the vivacious mineral finish. Truly a fabulous crowd pleaser. 2009 vintage was recently rated 90pts from Wine Spectator Magazine.
Alfredo Roca Pinot Noir On Sale $10.88 reg $14
Discovered on our trip to Argentina several years ago, this wine has been an Apollo favorite ever since. This is a small, family owned winery that takes great pride in making this friendly, approachable easy drinking Pinot Noir. Light and elegant with notes of blackberry and raspberry with a jammy finish. This is a crowd pleaser that would pair well with the typical Thanksgiving fare.
Donna Laura Ali Sangiovese $14.99
This wine in the heart of Tuscany has always astounded me with the amazing complexity it possesses in such a small price tag. Sangiovese has always been known for its bright lively acidity, which is what makes such a beautiful wine with food. This wine possesses that characteristic plus it adds gobs of fruit flavors such as black cherry, oak and a hint of rose petals. The acidity in this wine makes it a beautiful choice with anything laden with sauces.
